Asbestos Consultant / Project Manager

InControl Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Asbestos Consultant / Project Manager with 5-15 years of experience. The position is based out of our Houston, Texas office.

The primary responsibilities of this position would be asbestos consulting, including overall asbestos project management, proposal development, sampling, report writing, and abatement oversight, with additional duties supporting other service needs of the company. This position includes field work. Field work will decrease as the asbestos group grows and in-office project management time increases. 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Project management for various types of clients including education, industrial, commercial, governmental, etc.
  • Completing various and concurrent projects with minimal supervision, including final report or deliverable
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local environmental statutes, especially asbestos industry related regulations
  • Managing and mentoring a small team of asbestos inspectors and consultant
  • Business development
  • Asbestos sampling
  • Gathering, tabulating, and analyzing data
  • Report writing, technical writing
  • Abatement plan development
  • Abatement oversight
  • Attention to detail and maintaining safety awareness
  • Environmental construction oversight
  • Demolition oversight
  • Leading the selection of qualified contractors for abatement and demolition
  • Proposal development
  • Asbestos air monitoring, if licensed
  • Lead sampling, if licensed
  • Mold sampling, if licensed

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred, in Environmental Science or related field
  • Current TDSHS Asbestos Consultant license is required
  • Five (5) to fifteen (15) years experience in asbestos field
  • Asbestos sampling, plan/specs development, abatement oversight experience is required
  • OSHA training is preferred
  • Additional licenses such as Mold Consultant, Lead Based Paint Inspector, and Industrial Hygiene are considered a plus

Required Skills/Abilities/Physical Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the US
  • Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the US and a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in various outdoor site conditions and project locations (50% field work (with the goal to decrease as project management responsibilities increase), approx. up to 20% overnight travel)
  • Ability to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, company personnel, and regulatory personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Wetlands / Environmental Scientist

InControl Technologies is seeking an experienced environmental scientist to join our team. The position is to be based out of our Houston office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience conducting wetlands assessments, Phase I environmental site assessments, and/or related environmental due diligence activities, focused in the Texas/Gulf area.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct wetlands assessments, delineations, habitat assessments, and/or threatened and endangered species surveys
  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Perform site walks
  • Perform desktop research
  • Clearly convey environmental information and regulatory requirements associated with property transactions and due diligence findings
  • Interact with regulatory agencies including the TCEQ, USACE, and EPA
  • Write and produce scientific and professional reports
  • Lead and mentor junior staff to complete projects as a team
  • Business development

Education and Experience:

  • BS or MS in environmental science, biology, ecology, planning, engineering, or related natural science discipline
  • 2 years of experience in performing wetlands assessments and delineations
  • Minimum of 5 completed wetlands determinations and delineations in accordance with USACE protocol preferred
  • Successful completion of a Wetland Delineation Training course preferred
  • Experience in performing Phase I ESAs, natural resource assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, and/or other related environmental due diligence activities preferred

  • Ability to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check
